- For Cinnamon Apple Drizzle: 1 apple (peeled and finely diced), 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp brown sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon, ¼ cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla extract and sour cream.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed; gently fold in diced apples.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- For the crumb topping, mix brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a separate bowl; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the batter.
- Bake for approximately 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Prepare the drizzle by cooking diced apple with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and water until thickened; drizzle over cooled cake before serving.
