Ingredients
- 1 pound thick-cut turkey bacon (diced)
- 1 large yellow onion (finely diced)
- 2 small Fuji apples (peeled and diced)
- 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 3 tablespoons whiskey
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook diced turkey bacon until crispy. Drain excess grease on paper towels.
- Leave about four tablespoons of grease in the pan; add diced onion and cook until translucent (8-10 minutes).
- Stir in diced apples and cook until softened (4-5 minutes).
- Add minced garlic, brown sugar, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, chili powder, and cooked turkey bacon; mix well.
- Remove from heat and stir in whiskey before returning to heat.
- Simmer for 10-12 minutes until thickened to jam-like consistency.
- Serve warm or cold.
