- 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions
- Prepare the caramel: Melt sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until golden amber. Pour into a round baking dish, swirling to coat the bottom.
- Mix the custard: Blend evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, egg yolks, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Pour over the caramel.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the filled baking dish in a larger pan with hot water halfway up the sides. Bake for 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
- Cool and serve: Cool in the water bath before refrigerating for at least 4 hours. To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
