  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until soft, then add ground meat until browned. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices; simmer for 15–20 minutes.
  4. For the béchamel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour until golden. Gradually add milk while whisking to avoid lumps until thickened; stir in nutmeg, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half the pasta, followed by the meat sauce and remaining pasta. Pour béchamel evenly on top.
