Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round pans.
- In one bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together sugar and butter until fluffy.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and hot coffee to the sugar mixture; mix well.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 30–35 minutes.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to racks.
