Instructions
- Prepare browned butter by melting unsalted butter in a saucepan until golden specks form; let cool.

- Whisk together dry ingredients: cake flour, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, combine cooled browned butter with buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla; mix into dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chopped pecans gently.
- Divide batter evenly among prepared pans; smooth tops and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes before frosting with the prepared icing made from softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and flavorings.
