- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ¼ cup rainbow sprinkles
- 1 stick unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 1.5–2 cups powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla (for frosting)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream (for frosting)
- Pinch salt (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare five mason jars by washing and drying them thoroughly.
- In one bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add egg whites while mixing well.
- Mix in canola oil, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Slowly incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients without overmixing. Gently fold in rainbow sprinkles.
- Pour batter into prepared jars up to two-thirds full and bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool before layering with frosting made from creamed butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
