Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- Add chilled butter, blending until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add cold water until the dough forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix almond meal, sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until blended. Stir in beaten egg.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into squares.
- Place a spoonful of almond filling in the center of each square, fold corners to seal, and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
