- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for heat)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp honey
- ⅓ cup BBQ sauce
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- ½ cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- Lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken with olive oil and spices; toss to coat.
- Cook chicken in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5–6 minutes per side until fully cooked; let rest before slicing.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic; stir in honey and BBQ sauce; simmer for 2 minutes.
- Toss sliced chicken in the sauce until well-coated.
- Warm tortillas and assemble tacos with chicken mixture and desired toppings.
