Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season steak with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and sear the steak pieces for about 2–3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from heat.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in flour to create a roux; cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and beef broth until smooth. Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
- Cook tortellini according to package instructions but slightly undercook them to prevent mushiness. Drain and toss with olive oil.
- In a greased baking dish, combine tortellini, seared steak, and cheese sauce; mix well. Top with mozzarella.
- Bake uncovered for about 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
