Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter with brown sugar over low heat. Pour into the prepared pan and layer sliced bananas on top.
- In a mixing bowl, cream remaining butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in vanilla extract and milk until combined.
- Whisk together flour and baking powder; gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour batter over banana layer and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool for about five minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
