- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

- 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until light and fluffy.
- Mix in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in coconut flakes and chopped pecans.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto prepared baking sheets with space in between.
- Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain slightly soft. Cool on wire racks before frosting.
