Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch cake tin.
- Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, ground cardamom, and salt.
- Cream together butter and brown sugar; add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract, orange zest, and juice.
- Fold in chopped dates.
- Combine dry mixture with wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared tin; bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Prepare honey drizzle by warming honey and orange juice in a saucepan.
- Drizzle over warm cake and allow to cool before serving.
