- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half the beef and onions. Pour half of the sauce mixture over these layers. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumb mixture combined with melted butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
