- ⅛ teaspoon salt for frosting
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream or milk for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9-inch round cake pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually add baking soda, salt, cream of tartar, and flour until combined. Fold in M&Ms and sprinkles.
- Press batter evenly into the prepared pan; bake for 19–22 minutes until edges are light golden brown. Cool completely before frosting.
- For frosting: Beat softened butter until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and mixing in heavy cream until spreadable.
- Frost cooled cake and decorate with more sprinkles and M&Ms.
