- 5–6 firm apples (Golden or Braeburn)
- 100 g butter
- 120 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 roll of puff pastry
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel, core, and quarter the apples.
- In an ovenproof pan, melt the butter over medium heat, add sugar, and stir until golden caramel forms.
- Arrange apple quarters tightly in the pan, rounded side down; cook for 10-15 minutes.
- Roll out puff pastry and cover apples, tucking the edges inside the pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before carefully inverting onto a serving plate.
