Instructions

  3. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, green onions, thyme sprigs, celery, black pepper, salt, and browning sauce to the pot.
  4. Pour in beef broth and enough water to cover three-fourths of the roast. Add crushed allspice berries and the scotch bonnet pepper.
  5. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 150 minutes until fork-tender.
