- 1 tbsp cornstarch (for custard filling)

- 2 tsp vanilla extract (for custard filling)
- 1 tbsp butter (for custard filling)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the Granny Smith apples; mix with lemon juice, sugar, and spices.
- For the crust, combine flour and salt, cut in cold butter until crumbly, then add ice water to form dough.
- Roll out half of the dough into a baking dish; fill with the apple mixture.
- Prepare toffee sauce by melting butter, adding brown sugar and cream, then whisking in cornstarch until thickened.
- Pour toffee sauce over apples and cover with rolled-out second crust; seal edges and cut slits for steam.
- Brush with egg wash and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
