- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 35 caramel squares
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and combine it with brown sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Mix in the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- Spread half of the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes.
- For the caramel layer: melt caramel squares and heavy cream in the microwave until smooth.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked base layer, pour caramel on top evenly, then crumble remaining oat mixture over that.
- Bake for an additional 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
