Instructions
- Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.
- Insert wooden sticks into the stem end of each apple.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; stir gently.
- Boil the mixture without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring.
- Quickly dip each apple in the candy mixture, allowing excess to drip off before placing on the prepared sheet.
- Let cool completely until the candy shell hardens.
