Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, egg, and butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover; let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Prepare filling by beating cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Cook blueberries with lemon juice until thickened.
- Roll out risen dough and cut into squares. Fill each square with cream cheese filling and blueberry compote before sealing edges.
- Bake on parchment-lined sheets at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
