- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm whole milk

- 7 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)

- milk or lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, mix warm milk with yeast; let sit until foamy.

- Shape cold butter into an 8-inch square and chill it until firm.
- Roll out dough into a 16-inch square, place the butter block in the center, and fold corners over to seal.
- Roll into a long rectangle; fold into thirds like a letter and chill again. Repeat twice more.
- Roll dough to a 1/4-inch thickness and cut into squares; add cream cheese filling in the center.
- Allow shaped danishes to rise for an hour on parchment-lined sheets before baking at 390°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Cool completely then drizzle with glaze before serving.
