- 1 box Devil's Food cake mix
- 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz)
- 5 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sour cream or buttermilk
- 3/4 cup brewed coffee, cooled
- 2 cups Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips
- For the ganache: 2 tbsp salted butter
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together cake mix and pudding mix.
- In another bowl, combine eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, sour cream (or buttermilk), and cooled coffee until smooth.
- Gradually pour wet ingredients into dry mixture; stir gently until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cooling for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Prepare ganache: melt butter over low heat, then whisk in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Spread ganache over cooled cake and serve.
